At Installation of CPDM Section President, Nwa Pleads for the Creation of Mantung Division

Shey Jones

Shey Jones Yembe, Divisional Coordinator of the CPDM enjoined the newly elected section Executive to make sure that the spirit of mutual coexistence strives. Before performing the installation, Shey Jones reminded CPDM militants that they have always made Donga Mantung Division proud. “In the last elections Nwa won the Parliamentary seat and the council for the CPDM”, this he continued is a mark of seriousness that should be solidified. Harping on how Nwa has always made Donga Mantung people proud in all the spheres of life, he recounted how the first PHD holder, degree holder, first senator for Donga Mantung as well as the first ever personality from Division to be appointed a full minister (all came from Nwa). He also told militants that the Divisional coordination doesn’t replace the Section. “Section Presidents remain the bosses of the party at the grassroots” he added. He called on the elected officials to make sure that their ambitions coincide with party “let the party not be a victim. Lead and let others live”. He urged militants to adopt the principle of sharing, as well as learn how to forgive and forget.
Welcoming the team led by Shey Jones, the Section President Elect for Donga Mantung V (Nwa), Hon. Genesis Mbucksek expressed thanks to the chairman of the CPDM for putting in place the coordination. Hon.Genesis Mbucksek used the opportunity to plead on President Biya to upgrade Nwa Sub Division into a full-flesh Division by creating the Mantung Division. He reiterated that if this is done, it will go a long way to disenclave Nwa Sub Division. He lauded the CPDM militants in Nwa for their loyalty in the CPDM party.
Reconciliation
Focusing on internal reconciliation to win next elections and improve the party’s declining image was one of the successes of the mission by the coordination to Nwa, though boosting the party’s image looks to be a tough task considering the wrangling that erupted after the elections which Hon. Genesis Mbucksek trashed Dr. Ngomfe Loma David. “My other priority is to start reconciliation efforts at the grass roots level. I will visit all sub sections to consolidate the efforts so far deployed by the coordination,” Hon. Genesis Mbucksek said. The hope is that the party will be more stable he said, adding that the new political development is that of late the SDF has staged a spectacular comeback.
It should be recalled that this is not the first time that two elected officials have staged a public reconciliation since 2007. But during the last CPDM party re-ogranisation, Hon. Genesis Mbucksek proved to be more powerful than the mayor as he crushed him to emerge the winner. "He seems to be in a very strong position. Obviously we support him strongly because of what he stands for," says John Kihchie. What we do not need right now is constant wrangling because it is this kind of behaviour that may lead to election chaos.
However, if not of Shey Jones, some CPDM militants in Nwa hold that other politicians have done little to reconcile the two elected officials since 2007, and “we continue to live as if nothing is wrong” one disgusted militant murmured. “We want to see leaders travel together to preach unity. Shey Jones has done his part to see that for the CPDM in Nwa united and I wish that the two main persons forgive one another though its difficult to forget" says Madame Mary Nforchie, a dieheart militant.

What Is the Paris Climate Change Conference?

The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference is held November 30 to December 11 in Paris, France. The avowed goal of this conference is to reach a comprehensive, binding agreement on climate change bringing together all the world’s nations. The main commitment period for the Kyoto Protocol expired in 2012, and was extended to 2020. Scientists now believe that the Kyoto commitments are not enough to turn the tide of climate change.
At the 2014 U.N. Climate Summit in New York, a lot of ground work was done in preparation for the 2015 Paris meeting, and there are high hopes for a brand new agreement.
A successful agreement in Paris would have to be aimed at keeping the rise in global average temperatures at or below 2 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial average. The necessity to reach such an agreement is urgent. As the emissions of greenhouse gases continue to rise, our ability to keep global warming below critical thresholds is diminishing.
A new agreement will have to aggressively support the development of renewable, carbon-neutral energy sources like wind and solar.
According to United Nations climate chief Christiana Figueres, it is precisely this immense technological challenge that should convince reluctant countries to enter a meaningful agreement. Economic benefits will come from the development of renewable energy, including economic growth, technology jobs, and exports, she told the Associated Press.
While waiting after the slow pace of international diplomacy, here are some actions which anyone can take right now:

Reorganization of the CPDM in the United States: Opinion Poll Puts Patience Tamfu Largely Ahead

Yaah Patience Tamfu
Prof Ngole Ngole Elvis is head of the CPDM Central Committee delegation to the United States of America. With elections in the offing in the Diasporas, expectations are high at that a more efficient leadership is put in place reasons why savory reports on public opinion polls is gaining ground.  Ahead of this reorganization process, popular opinion in the United States of America puts Yaah Patience Tamfu ahead of the three other contenders. She is the lone female candidate for the post of Section President. This is so because she fulfills all the conditions prescribed by President Biya, President of the party. Above all, she masters the party text very well, majority say.
Popular opinion at home and the Diasporas holds that CPDM militants in the USA must choose a candidate with character and conscience. Commentators have opined that Yaah Patience Tamfu is sure bet for the position of Section given that she is a political heavyweight. However, looking at her political career in such a twofold approach is certain that she is the best when weighed up the evidences of her commitment to the CPDM party. With this in mind, and with the results of the last Presidential election that she worked relentlessly for the CPDM, prospects are high at that she would surely work for the growth of the party, a school of thought holds.
Yaah Patience Tamfu
Considering that Yaah Patience Tamfu was elected as pioneer  WCPDM Section President in the USA IN 2007, she is therefore an asset given that one of the prerequisites requires candidates for the position of Section President to have ample knowledge about the basic texts of the party and must have served the party in any specialized organ.  One major question lingering on all the lips is whether the other contenders have had such experience or just-having a jump-start in politics.
Who is Patience Tamfu?
If there is any area in Cameroon where the Beijing platform can be assessed, it is in the domain of politics and economic sphere which was formerly a no go zone for the woman. Yaah Patience Tamfu is one of the few female politicians who has shown that women in leadership could mean a lot to Cameroon. Ever since this daughter of the great statesman, late Hon. SN Tamfu became the sparkling flicker, the ever first woman to strengthen the CPDM party in the United State of America, she has become a symbol that women in leadership position is worth celebrating. Hitherto considered a no go zone for women, Yaah Patience Tamfu has not only dismantled the male barriers constructed around politics but has more importantly serve as a woman emancipator. And that she is candidate for the position of Section President in the USA is a fact.  And that she campaigned tirelessly for President Biya to win in Diasporas during the last Presidential elections is an undeniable fact. It is thanks to her that the CPDM is striving in the United States of America.
Since her election into the national Bureau of the WCPDM, (Central Committee), Patience Tamfu helped a great deal in transmitting President Biya’s policy in the Diasporas. Even though she lives in the USA, she remains approachable. She talks and acts with dogged friendliness reasons why she is loved and appreciated by all.
Yet, it is these qualities which incalculably complement her multifarious roles in Uncle Sam’s America, Donga Mantung Division, North West and Cameroon as a whole. Her savoir-faire in politics and the way she interacts with others has earned several recognitions. It was not by error that she was voted as "Woman of Year" in 2012 by readers of The Eye newspaper and few months ago she was honoured with The Lifetime Achievement Award for her leadership role in fostering development amongst Wimbum community (at home and abroad) and Cameroonians in the USA. Besides, she was honoured with the most prestigious traditional title of Mbum land, Yaah. In the US where she lives, she was also recognized by her employer as well as the various communities due to her leadership skills.
This is so because she is a bulk of talent, intelligent and a woman who lives in every other person’s problem. Hard work and efficiency have continued to be the qualities that define her. Whenever you meet her for the first time, you are taken by her mastery of issues.  Take it as arrogance and you are right for this is positive arrogance that enables that job for which she does is done correctly. It is this positive arrogance she reads widely and interacts with all the set of people in society.
Notwithstanding, she has the drive and dedication that defies any facile explanations. Born into the family of late Hon. SN Tamfu, she was brought up in close knit family in the fear of the God. In later life she could not escape to be a workaholic or become a politician par excellence reasons why her position in society as a role model continue to inspire many young girls and build society. Team Patience Tamfu for Section President.

Agho Oliver: Making it in Politics

Agho Oliver receiving "Most Devoted CPDM Youth" award from Mayor of Ndu
Agho Oliver is a young dynamic CPDM youth who is climbing the ladder of politics with alot of dexterity. Though it is admitted by many that politics is a means to  an end; but it is not necessarily that  the end must be a groveling one. Yet Agho Oliver has proven that the value of a politician must be determined, for the most part, by the greatness of its aim and the largeness of the result accomplished. Whenever politics goes with tangible results, it will not fail to be useful if handled by people with character and conscience because it extensiveness and non-interventionist will impact people positively. The CPDM party in Mezam IC is very vibrant thanks to the number of youths who have engaged into politics.
Agho Oliver seemingly has the experience in the game of politics given that at his young age, he has served almost all the basic organs of the party. From the Cell, Branch, Sub Section and the Section, the young man has left a mark of greatness in all the positions he held. Last August 31, 2015, Agho Oliver was honoured in Nkambe as "Most Devoted CPDM Youth". Those who had the pains to travel to Nkambe to be part of this groundbreaking event would agree with this reporter that Agho Oliver stole the show. Mezam IC was noticed due to the fact that over 60 militants (dance group) dressed in Mezam IC T-shirts greased the event. In politics, leadership qualities is determined by how much followers one has. Agho Oliver when judged from that perspective is a rising young leader.
Ahead of the reorganization of the basic organs of the CPDM, Agho Oliver is seemingly the best candidate for the post of YCPDM in his section. Majority of the militants of Mezam IC sees in him, a man of the future....a suivre

Coalition of Civil Society Organizations Put MTN, ORANGE, NEXTTEL, CAMTEL on Scan

The survey was presented to the Bamenda public at the Ayaba Hotel on August 26, 2015. Presenting the survey results assessing the services offered to consumers/impact on job creation by telecommunication industry within North West, Awah Cletus Fobuzi disclosed that questionnaires were carried on three thousand consumers of products and services. The survey involved MTN, ORANGE, NEXTTEL and CAMTEL.
According to the Awah Cletus the survey seeks to ascertain the impact on job creation by the industry as well as its contribution in corporate giving. Though some services of the various providers had been very vital, he noted that some had left consumers with huge liabilities. He mentioned the fact that it is common to put to phones side by side in an area, with the screen indicating that there is network on both phones but when you make a call, a recorded voice tells you the number is not available. Besides, call breakages and undue drops are common phenomenon.
Harping on the corporate social responsibility of these companies, the survey raises doubts as to why a company that makes more than FCFA 10 billion in the region per month does not even employ more than 15 workers. The report also noticed a complete absence of corporate giving by these companies. More so, there is discrimination in the employment of workers especially Anglophones. However, the survey also prescribed some remedies to the prevailing situation as well as suggested how it could be exploited by stakeholders of the industry to optimize services offered to costumers in order to profit all. Shufai Njilahngotong (Njilah Isaiah Tata) Quits Active Politics

Shufai Njilahngotong

Shufai Njilahngotong, formerly a frontline militant of the CPDM (Donga Mantung II Section Ndu) has decided to quit politics. He was an Executive member of the Section and had also played a very vital role for the growth of the party. The decision was made public by his son, Tata Kwawi Mbinglo. In the declaration he states that “In view to keep a lasting legacy and set an example for other traditional rulers in Cameroon to emulate, My Dad Shufai Njilahngotong, has officially announced his Decision to stay away from Frontline politics so as to objectively rule his people as a God chosen leader. This decision comes up at a time when many people expected otherwise”. Shufai Njilahngotong it should be noted hail from Fuh-Ndu. He is also the Divisional Delegate of Transport for Meme Division, in the South West Region.
Tongues are still waging in Ndu as to why he decided to quit politics. Many of his supporters who were expecting to see him as one of the contenders for the position of Section President are yet to recover from the shock. However, youths all over have described his quitting active politics as gentle move to stay away from partisan politics. Expressionists are of the opinion that his decision could be linked to the politics of hatred that is chopping and dividing elite(s) of Donga Mantung Division.Others say the decision is wise and that other traditional rulers should emulate him.
Who is Shufai Njilahngotong
Njila Isaiah Tata aka Shufai Njilangotong is a multifaceted. He is a traditionalist, a village head, writer-musician and astute administrator has always stood against political tension and intrigues taking the minds of some politicians and has quite often decried the politics of acrimony, blackmail and hatred that characterizes politics in Donga Mantung Division in the North West Region because some people have transformed the game of politics into a sinkhole for character assassination. Njila Isaiah Tata who by the Mbum tradition was enthroned village head for Fuh in Ndu as per costume and tradition had to be called Shufai Njilangotong. Besides, he was Donga Mantung Divisional Delegate for Secondary Education where he was admired for doing uncommon things in a very common way, and an educationist who has served as principal for over 16 years before being catapulted to the position of delegate. In 2008, Njila Isaiah Tata was distinguished by Donga Mantung Association of Journalists-DOMAJ as the All Best Principal again All Round Best Divisional Delegate by The Eye Newspaper in 2011 Achievement Award. He later moved to the Ministry of Transport, where he is presently Divisional Delegate for Transport in Meme Division of the South West Region.  When makes him different from others is that ever since he joined politics, his style was very singular from the usual politics of hatred, acrimony, bitterness and blackmail that has characterized Donga Mantung politicians.
He has been described as a man of additional qualities. Unlike others he always busy round the clock. As a seasoned administrator, he believes like Immanuel Kant that “the more we are busy, the more we feel we are alive and contributing for the welfare of others”. His enlightening background coupled with his dedication to be perfect has made her to transform the principle of edification for work into the principle of teaching through work. As a Christian Baptist Christian, Njila Isaiah believes like Martin Luther King that “working is praying”.
